Data residency in Switzerland
Your engagement data is hosted in Switzerland — a jurisdiction recognised by the EU as providing an adequate level of data protection, so it can flow to and from the EU without extra legal hoops.
egtos is a Swiss-built marketplace, and trust is the product. Your money is held in escrow until work is accepted, your data stays in Switzerland under the FADP and the GDPR, and every engagement carries a neutral AI agent, Marcus, to keep things fair. Here is exactly how that holds up.
Escrow is not a promise written in a contract — it is how the platform works. Every milestone is funded into escrow before work begins, and the money is released only when you accept the deliverable. Buyers never pay into the void; vetted consultants and firms never chase an invoice.
egtos GmbH is a Swiss company, and your data is handled to Swiss and European standards. Personal data is processed under the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We process personal data on a lawful basis, honour access, correction and erasure rights, and limit what we collect to what the engagement actually needs.
Exactly what we collect, why, and how long we keep it is set out in the privacy policy — written to be read, not buried.
Security is not a feature bolted on at the end. Access is scoped to the people on an engagement, secrets live in a managed vault, and payments and disputes run through audited, append-only records.
Two things make a marketplace trustworthy: the scores you compare people on must be earned, not bought — and when something goes wrong, the process has to be even-handed.
The IndexScore® is computed from evidence — completed work, accepted milestones and verified history — on a 200-to-800 scale. It is objective and portable, and it cannot be purchased or inflated by marketing.
When a concern is raised, the neutral AI agent Marcus mediates before any formal dispute — proposing a resolution both sides vote on. Escalation to a formal dispute is the exception, not the default.
The moment a concern is raised the relevant escrow locks, so no money moves while the question is open — neither party can be short-changed by timing.
We will only ever claim a certification once we actually hold it. These are the Swiss trust marks we are pursuing — shown honestly as in-progress targets, not as marks we already carry.
Swiss-built, Swiss-hosted software label — application in progress.
Swiss Digital Initiative trust label — targeted, not yet held.
Set up your company on egtos and run your first engagement with escrow, Swiss data residency, and Marcus on your side from day one.
